Awards for children’s photography and family portraits

The Guild of Photographers is a highly-regarded association for those committed to the art of photography. I have been a member of this organisation since 2014 and am very proud to be part of such a great community! I specialise in children’s photography and family portraits – every month, they run their ‘Image of the Month’ (IOM) competition, which receives thousands of entries UK wide. The level of technical ability is high, all of which are assessed by a panel of highly experienced judges who grade them in accordance with strict judging criteria. Higher scoring images are then subsequently awarded a Bronze, Silver, Gold or even Platinum bar.

–          A Platinum Bar – Images of exceptional or outstanding quality (only awarded to the ultimate of images)

–          A Gold Bar – Images of particular distinction (very rare)

–          A Silver Bar – Images that are well crafted (difficult to achieve)

–          A Bronze Bar – Images of a very high standard (and something to be proud of)

–          Graded – Images of a good standard but are not deemed award winning at a national competition level.

I tend to enter a few times a year, and am delighted to say that I’ve received Bronze and Silver awards for my children’s photography and family portraits. It’s a great achievement and I hope to continue enjoying the competition in the months to come!
